Thou covers Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” about 4:30 into this live vid from ABC No Rio and IT IS AWESOME.

“I feel like that song really brings about emotions of just being completely crushed and obliterated, and now the only thing you can do is dig yourself out of that hole and rebuild yourself.”

Download an unreleased Thou track, “Bonnet Carré,” in exchange for a donation to clean up the BP spill around the Deepwater Horizon. The song was recorded during the Summit sessions and it is, unsurprisingly, pretty killer.
Other bands on the Head Above Water compilation include Screaming Females, Bomb the Music Industry! and Caddywhompus. It’s a good cause and you get some rad music out of it. Win win.

It’s kind of awesome to see a bunch of kids freaking out to a filthy-as-hell Black Sabbath cover. If you missed it a couple years ago, download Through the Empires of Eternal Void, Thou’s Black Sabbath covers EP here

‘As Slow As Possible’ Podcast Reaches 100 Downloads!

Inverted Umlaut is a two-bit operation with zero promotion, so I was excited to see that 100 people have downloaded Podcast, No. 5: As Slow As Possible! I used the open source software PaulStretch to turn tracks by Converge, Electric Wizard and Thou into hour-long bliss-outs. You can download the episode directly, but don’t miss out on the full edits and bonus cuts that didn’t make it into show (Sunn O))), Deathspell Omega).
